Research Activities
The primary foci of my research activities are: the genetic regulation of plant growth and development, and to improve the development traits in transgenic plants through molecular modification.
My current objectives are:
1.Biochip: To develop new microarray technology and apply to plant and microorganism sciences.
2.Signal transduction: To investigate the gene modification in plant growth by microarray.

2.The main technical work and scientific achievements:
Since November,2004, Professor Li has been assigned by many universities as Master instructor in many subjects, including Food Science and Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and the Wildlife Protection and Utilization. He also serves as lecturer for many courses including “Food Nutrition and Health,” “Environmental Ecology” “Body Structure and Function,” “High school biology teaching,” “Animal Biology” “Animal Biology Experiments,” “Basic Biology” “Biological Resources Science,” “Food Resource Science” “phytogeography” “Introduction to life Sciences ” “special aquaculture ” “rural planting and breeding technology”, “Introduction to environmental Engineering”,“Introduction to environmental Science, ” “ invertebrate Animal ”“ vertebrate Animal”.
Professor Li focuses on economic Amphibian breeding projects, and wildlife conservation and utilization research. Particularly in developing the techniques on creating amphibians artificial ecosystem and other areas presided over the national, provincial and municipal funds and directed 19 scientific and technological issues. 65 academic paper have been published, and 3 international patents have been established. He has been involved in the publication of three books directly and indirectly. Among the three books, “Western Xiang Artificial propagation of Rana Boulenger Guenther” was considered as the cutting- edge technique by the specialists in this area and filled the gaps in the research for Rana Boulenger Guenther both in China and abroad. And he was therefore entitled with Science and Technology Progress Award by Board of Education in Hunan and Science and Technology Agency. Professor Li has formed a system of engineering industry of Rana Boulenger Guenther and has his own core technology and intellectual property achievements. Recently, Professor Li has been working with establishing large Breeding bases in provinces like, Hunan, Fujian, Jiangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, and Gansu. Since 2001, Professor Li has been invited by the Science and Technology Association, Science and Technology Agency, and universities to give instructions for the local farmers. Professor Li has given them scientific instruction for keeping pigs, chicken, and other economic species. In this way, he has solved many technical problems and got great positive feedbacks from the society.

Xu Hua Male Born in 1981
Xu Hua received his Master’s degree in Plant Ecology from Nankai University in June, 2007. During the study for master’s degree, he focused his research on the pathogenesis and biological control of plant root-knot nematodes. He also involved in a number of projects, including “973” and “10th Five-year Plan” program supported by national funds, research programs supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China and Tianjin Science Funds. He has published 20 research papers on national and international journals, among which 9 were published as the first author.
